  • Cons:
"The E36-chassis BMW M3 is really the last model of M3 before technology and electronics started coming in. As with most BMW's, if you take care of it and occasionally do preventative maintenance on it, you will be good to go. I bought my '99 M3 Coupe 6 years ago when it had 92,000 miles. I'm now at about 140k miles and the first 20k miles was a breeze. Around 120k I overhauled the cooling system and over the past 10k miles all the suspension parts and bushings have been replaced with higher quality products. I will probably never have to replace them again. The driving pleasure that this car gives me is something you will not find on new cars. The connectedness to the road is epic and I would not trade it for a newer BMW at all. SAVE THE MANUALS TOO!"

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
