Mitsu 2008 Eclipse convertible 100% Useful Rating

Overall great car. It does have a few shortcomings: * Limited rear visibility primarily due to small rear window. *
Somewhat difficult getting in & out. * Room for passengers in rear seat very tight. * Minimal room in trunk

Mechanic Q: Type of oil used?

My car's owner's manual calls for 5W20 oil. My dealer said 10W30 is fine. What do you think? Thank you.

I'm sorry but I'm confused. I assume the automotive engineers who work for the manufacturer which in this case is Mitsubishi are the ones who come up with the weight of oil required. So do you think they would also say it doesn't matter whether it's 5W20 or 10W30or might they say if it was either we would have said so. Thank you.
